The Experience

This 7-course tasting dinner is an immersive dining experience inspired by the life cycle of rice. It is a grain that, in Korean culture, carries far more than nourishment: It is comfort, care, resilience, and memory woven into everyday life. One of the most familiar ways we ask after someone in Korea is with the phrase “밥 먹었어?” meaning “Have you eaten?”. It is a quiet expression of love and concern which serves as the epicentre of what SURA is about.

At the heart of the evening lies a reflection on the generations of unseen labour, patience, and devotion behind every bowl of rice: the farmers who work within the rhythms of the seasons, the flooded fields shaped by hand, and the enduring connection between land, family, and food. Each stage of traditional Korean rice farming reflects patience, humility, and a deep respect for the land. Through a contemporary tasting menu inspired by the Korean farming calendar, each course traces a different stage of cultivation. From seed and seedling to harvest and drying, brought to life through seasonal ingredients, modern technique, evocative tablescaping, and layered storytelling.

We have brought together a team of Michelin and five-star hotel chefs reimagining Korean culinary tradition through a modern lens. Together they have created a 7-course journey that builds a bridge between heritage and contemporary fine dining. Each course can also be accompanied with a carefully considered wine pairing curated by a former sommelier at a 3 Michelin-starred restaurant.

More than a dinner, this is a deeply sensory exploration of Korean identity, inviting guests to gather, reflect, and experience the quiet beauty and emotion held within the simplest shared meal.

More Details

What is SURA?

In Korean tradition, Sura (수라) refers to the royal court meal served to the king during the Joseon Dynasty. It was not a single dish, but an elaborate, highly structured dining experience composed of multiple courses and side dishes, prepared with exceptional care, balance, and seasonal precision.

In this context, Sura supper club inspires a contemporary reinterpretation: a curated dining experience that celebrates abundance, craftsmanship, and the ceremonial act of eating together.

Lokoli X SABA

Lokoli, short for “Lovely Korean Life,” is a London-based brand creating immersive Korean cultural experiences through food, design, and storytelling. Blending contemporary Korean cuisine with curated tablescapes and emotionally driven narratives, Lokoli transforms dining into a sensory experience rooted in memory, atmosphere, and connection

SABA Convenience Store is an experience-oriented venue that simulates Korean city life on a London high street. It moves away from the typical expectations of a convenience store shopfront with its appearance from the street comprising of carefully displayed instant products alongside daily activities, encouraging acts of independent cooking and dining by all customers, especially families. It displays through cooking and eating as forms of consumption, and as a convenience store, it plays between a shop, kitchen and restaurant.

Lokoli and SABA came together through a shared ambition to present Korean culture in London as something lived and experienced rather than simply consumed. While Lokoli approaches this through contemporary Korean cuisine, storytelling and carefully curated atmospheres, SABA creates an everyday simulation of Korean city life through food, space and interaction. Together, this special collaboration allows both parties to blur the boundaries between dining, culture and environment in turn creating a supper club that feels immersive, emotionally driven and deeply rooted in the social rituals of Korean life.
